Laura is a catalyst for learning, change and giving. She has 20+ years of experience in community organizing, training and capacity building, program design and evaluation. Through her consulting practice (lauramakeschange.org), Laura designs strategic learning experiences that engage people in antiracism; organizational development interventions for nonprofit start-ups on their way to sustainability; and philanthropic advising for individuals, families, and family foundations at every stage of their charitable giving journey. Laura’s expertise and dedication have contributed to the growth of several local nonprofit organizations and community initiatives, including in her role as co-founder and founding Executive Director of We Stories, an organization that engaged thousands of St. Louis families in starting and strengthening conversations about racism with their young children from 2015-2023.
