
Sandra serves as the regional director for a national educational non-profit. In her role she sets the vision and operationalizes the strategies necessary to develop the civic leadership of over 1,400 educators and former educators. Sandra leads on regional partnership expansion and engagement, regional electoral leadership recruitment, and stewardship of key regional relationships. Early on in her career, Sandra taught nearly 300 5th graders and went on to redesign a college readiness curriculum which is used by over 10,000 students across the United State annually. Sandra holds degrees in History and Social Studies Education from the University of Georgia. In 2020, Sandra was recognized as a WISE Emerging Leader by the Qatar Foundation. She is a writer and has completed the Op-Ed Project Public Voices Fellowship twice. When Sandra is not working, she can be found cooking, gardening and spending time with her husband, Alan, and cat, Nacho.
