Hector Rivera is a Queer Puerto Rican Bronx native, product of NYC public schools and non-profit cultural arts institutions, and Theater Artist. Currently serving as the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and Trainer with the Center for Racial Justice in Education with over a decade of experience in arts education and administration. He recently participated in the National Association of Latino Arts and Culture’s National Leadership Institute, was a founding member of both the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s Young Professionals Advisory Council and the CreateNYC: Leadership Accelerator program and lastly, Cycle IV fellow at the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute’s Innovative Cultural Advocacy fellowship. He holds a B.A in Theater and Political Studies from Bard College at Simon’s Rock and is currently enrolled at the CUNY School of Professional Studies. His background in community engagement, racial analysis, and social justice pedagogy all form the foundation and approach for his practice.
